I am a giant nerd. I always want to be learning something new or learning more about a subject. I love to read, a lot. My bookshelf is just stacked with books. My favorite book is probably "To Kill a Mockingbird," I have read it many times over; there is always something new to be found with each reading, and different meanings withing the text. Solving puzzles is probably my favorite thing to do during free-time. They challenge me and allow me to practice creative-problem-solving. When you are solving a puzzle there are so many ways to start, but after you take that first step you get to work and watch as the path to the solution becomes clear in front of you. Thinking about problems in the abstract can help some answers seem clear when you come across them in real-life scenarios. Also, when I'm working on a puzzle my brain isn't trying to think about 20 different things at once; I am able to slow down, unwind, and largely disconnect from the world around me.
