A picture is worth a thousand words. This picture is one that fits that saying. This picture is from when the police of LA became incredibly racist and prejudiced (this particular one is from Compton). Police had gotten out of hand and this was shown to the world in the Rodney King riots after police brutally beat a man on camera. Police had gotten to the point where any Black guy they saw they would assume was a gang banger. During this photograph, people were rioting against the police and genuinely felt oppressed, so much so that two rival gangs united against the greater enemy. The people were scared and tired of being treated like crap, they wanted equal rights and for police to stop attacking and mercilessly beating innocent people. This led African Americans to riot further against police and showed the nation that these police officers needed to be controlled.
