Assignment 4 - Erin Caudill

This picture, taken in 1937, shows the Hindenburg erupting in flames while it is attempting to land. Everything had been going smoothly on the Hindenburg until a fire started on board at around 7:25 a.m. on May 6. The Hindenburg itself was such a big ordeal that just it's landing drew the attention of the press and the public, and sure enough the fact that it turned into such a horrible disaster attracted even more attention. Everyone who had been watching in awe seconds before this photograph were surely horrified at the site of the aircraft bursting into flames. No one is entirely sure of what started the fire, but there are several theories. This affected the world strongly and caused an end to what is referred to as the airship era. People all around the world lost confidence in an airship's ability to safely transport people around the word after the tragic incident with the Hindenburg.
