Assignment 3- Logan Gehefer

When I hear the words good and evil my mind rushes to film or books. I believe that in the real world there is no absolute good and evil. I believe that there is a complete gray area because I am certain there is no person in this world who has only done things considered good or only done things considered bad. The world is a complete gray area where people do both good and bad things, and that's just human nature. Good and Evil don't even have to exist as every person does both good and evil things, making everyone neutral. Sure there are people like Osama Bin Laden compared to people who donate millions to charity who are on opposite ends of this neutral scheme but at the end of the day, there is no absolute good or evil. Evil to me is someone who intentionally hurts others, while good is someone who intentionally helps others. Many people do an evil act when trying to better themselves, whether it be as small as the deflated footballs in the Superbowl, or as big as the domestic terrorism of Timothy McVeigh. People do good deeds to make themselves feel better a lot, however there is no absolution for either of these traits.
