Assignment 9- Gus Carlson

War is an awful, terrible thing, causing millions of deaths and often seeming pointless. The vast majority of wars are unjustified and would be better solved diplomatically. With this in mind, some war is unfortunately necessary in some circumstances. Imagine if the Western powers had never been willing to fight a war against Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. The policy of appeasement and pacifism simply didn't work against such a person. War is not morally correct, but it is sometimes a necessity for people to survive. If we could all get along with posterity for each country, that would obviously be optimal, but that is simply not realistic in our world. We should have far fewer wars than we presently start as a planet, and we should focus more on having less deaths (both soldier and civilian) in war, but occasionally war must take place to save humanity.
