Assignment 14 - Haley Drake

Every year my family gets together for Thanksgiving. And by family, I don't mean my immediate family and a couple cousins. I mean my entire family. We took a headcount this year... 107 second cousins, step-uncles, and somehow-related-to-me-but-not-sure-their name's. So yeah.

On the day of Thanksgiving, we used to meet up at my Great Aunt Joni's house in Greenwood, Indiana. But a few years ago we realized that our family was getting a bit too big, and we couldn't all fit in Aunt Joni's house. So now we go to a church! There are about 10 round tables that we eat at, and the kids have a whole gym to play in. Also, dinner is in... sane... Everyone brings a dish and all of it is delicious. If you think a 10 person family eats too much on Thanksgiving, imagine my family's table. It's basically a 20 foot buffet of amazing food.

The extremities our family takes to make Thanksgiving amazing has really made me enjoy being around family and celebrating everything we have to be thankful for. I'm honestly glad that I so often get to see each and every one of my family members as it keeps growing and changing. I think Thanksgiving will always be one of my favorite days of the year.
