With today’s elephant in the room, class and race divisions, a solution to this is paramount for moving forward in today’s world. A smart proposal, discussed at a recent seminar, is to reinstate the institution of slavery. Slavery was used in its former days, as a labor source for agricultural economies, characterized by the use of a lesser class and some brutality. People tend to worry themselves with the ethical factors but forget to consider what it did for the South’s economy. By reinstituting slavery we gain an equal working class, and a final end to any question on social status. The white population would not have to be worried about appearing racist because one race would legitimately be considered lower, and we wouldn’t have to worry about social mobility or rising ranks in the work place because it wouldn’t be allowed. Everyone in society would have a comfortable niche in which to live his or her lives, harmoniously with, but not equal to, other classes.
