Assignment 11- Ella Jensen

1)    Although I do not believe in a zombie apocalypse, I will be beyond prepared if I am ever faced with one. First, the perfect get away bag would have clothes that are layerable, good for long wear, fast drying, and good materials. Since we will only have nature’s resources, we need to be able to do laundry on the go. Next, I would bring a small locket or pocket photo album just to be able to remember why I am still alive and who I am surviving for (it would mainly be pictures of my dogs). My weapon of choice would be a bat like Negan has or a machete like Michonne. Guns are only affective if you were trained prior to the apocalypse and if you have enough ammo; they would most likely be used for civil wars between the living. I like the bat and sword because they can be used from an arms length away, unlike a knife, and don’t require much power to inflict a deadly blow. I would then go to Costco and just wait it out because no zombie can get in without a membership card.
Jokes aside, I most definitely don’t think I am the type of person nor have enough strength to survive through such horror. It is very morbid, but I would most likely kill myself because especially if you watch the Walking Dead, there is no hope in sight and those who are left after dealing with the undead AND greedy gangs have to rebuild the world from the ground up.

I also don’t think that a full apocalypse is possible with the amount of fantasies about the subject in the media. As soon as there is even one or two cases, the whole world would take precautionary measures and I don’t think that it would get far enough to warrant it the name, apocalypse.
