Assignment 9 - Ethan MacGillivray

The injustices that occur in the world today are a scary thought. To think that there could be a terrorist attack at any moment is not something I want to think about. There is most certainly a time when war is necessary. If an entire country is threatened and in danger due to the actions of one group, it is completely reasonable to declare war. Morally, war can be right and wrong. War can stop the unnecessary civilian deaths from terrorism, but also endangers other people, in the Middle East and in the United States. Very rarely does a country have a responsibility to go to war, but if people in that country and other countries are in danger, it could be the best option. The alternative is to hash out a compromise or agreement with words, but this can have varied amounts of effectiveness. Depending on the group you are dealing with, they could want to talk, or they could refuse to talk, leaving you with little options other than war.
