Assignment 14- Gus Carlson

Thanksgiving gatherings are a long-standing tradition in my family. The entirety of my mom's family gathers at my aunt's house in northern Kentucky. With eight siblings, most of whom have kids (leading to about 20 cousins), it is a crowded holiday. We watch the Macy's parade, Thanksgiving football, and the national dog show. We play football outside and sometimes explore the woods near my aunt's house. We all the traditional Thanksgiving foods; my favorite is the  pies my grandmother bakes. It is a general period of gathering with family and enjoying each other's company. As the oldest of the cousins in my family, the burden often falls upon me to organize the kids into playing something together. One of my favorite memories is trying to figure out how to get over a dozen kids of varying ages from toddler to teen to all do the same thing. Not that we all have to do the same thing, but it is a family holiday and we should spend time together.
