I believe that war only has a time and place when defending
the weak or rebelling against the oppressive. Although there are more than a
handful of exceptions, war should do good. So no matter how many “weapons of
mass destruction” there were in Iraq, we never should of gone in. On the other
hand, we should go into Syria and help rescue refugees because they can do
nothing to protect themselves. Few cases it is the lesser of two evils. For
example, the civil war was necessary to keep our union together and not risk
dividing into two. And if the south seceded successfully then they most likely
would have had slavery well into the 20th century. But the strong
political loyalty, which even I recognize in myself, has caused our world to
seek out violence over most diplomatic compromise. If we strive for more
compromise and work together, we could live in a more peaceful society.
