Assignment 5- Nick Joseph

Television is one of those pass times which started out as a useful advancement in technology, but , to some degree, has spiraled out of control into a pretty colossal waste of time.  Personally, I love television.  I watch it, but not excessively.  My favorite shows include Parks and Rec, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, Sports Center, and Sports Nation.  I also enjoy live broadcasts of pretty much any major sport (including baseball, football, and basketball) and FOX News.  With all of these options, and thousands more out there, it is easy to see how some people end up watching entirely too much television.  If I was going to buy stock in one industry today, it would undoubtedly be in eye care.  The amount of screen time a person has between work and home, phones and computers, and televisions and tablets is unreal.  All of this leads to the slow degrading of our eyesight.  Even though television is informative and entertaining, nature is healthier and, quite frankly more exciting and enjoyable, than television is.  We should supplement television with walks or sports games: our eyes will thank us later.
