Assignment 4 - Joseph Cook

This image is of the Challenger Space Shuttle exploding. Challenger was sent up at 11:38:00 EST and exploded at 11:39:13 EST, killing all on board, and traumatizing millions, including the elementary school children watching it live. This disaster not only shocked America, but it also made us improve our space program. After the 32 month hiatus of launch time, America could launch a space shuttle proudly, without faulty O-rings or freezing temperatures. But NASA never quite regained their reputation. Funding was cut. The Air Force stopped using space shuttles to launch their super duper top-secret satellites, and instead started using the Titan IV, as one of them had never exploded. Overall, January 28, 1986 was a pretty bad day for all involved, and most people not involved.
