I believe in free will. I strongly believe that people and make a name for themselves, or make themselves into who they want to be. You may not be able to choose your situation, but you can choose your reaction to that situation.
As far as an absolute good or evil, I think it could be a possibility. It just depends on a person and their own decisions. If someone is only insterested in being good, they could decide that they want to be "absolutely good" or if they're interested in being evil they could decide to be "absolutely evil". However, that's where the gray area is. I think that no matter how hard someone tries, chances are they might get caught in a situation where they do something wrong, or vice versa.
