Assignment 3 - Joseph Cook

I personally believe in an ultimate good, God; and an ultimate evil, Satan. Despite the existence of both extremes, there is also the middle area, not just the best and worst, but the better, the good, the bad, and the worse. Humans have the natural tendency to think that their side is the good side. With the exception of some rebellious folks, nobody says, "what I do is evil." People do say though, "What you do is evil." This is where things get tricky. Say two people are given a the option of either nurturing a terminally ill dog until death, or euthanizing it. One person might nurture the dog, and say that euthanizing the dog is evil because it is killing the dog. The other might euthanize the dog and say that nurturing the dog until death is evil because it just prolongs the suffering of the animal. Some things can be called evil, while other things are just a matter of opinion.
