The most successful part of this class in my opinion was the never ending stream of essay writing and grading. Though sitting in class grading essays for days on end was somewhat painful and extremely painful when it was your essay being graded, the amount of exposure to AP writing prepared us so well for the AP test. However, I would have liked to have had more discussion before writing each type of essay. I felt that a lot of the time, especially first semester, I struggled to know what to write about and how to write it. I also would have liked to have incorporated socratic seminars into the first semester. I know that they were not enjoyed by everyone, but they really helped me to see what to be looking for in passages for essays. My biggest issue with this class was the Visual Literacy Assignments. The expectations were extremely unclear for many of them, and for much of the time they felt like an unnecessary stress. As I contemplate what I am doing for my PSA, I am still struggling to see how this is at all related to the AP content we have learned and the classwork we have completed this year. A simple discussion relating these projects to class  or incorporating some of the skills necessary for the advertisements into class more would have helped in this area.
