Assignment 26-Elizabeth Ueland

I think that more specific instruction and direct focus on the multiple choice section of the test would have been helpful. Analyzing footnotes, for example, was relatively unfamiliar to me. Although many gifted students are able to ace the multiple choice section even before taking the class, I think that a little extra direction throughout the year would have been helpful. The assignments were effective in learning how to dissect and analyze passages to form a coherent essay. However, the only beef I had was with the ambiguity of the rubrics and deadlines of the assignments. I think that easily accessible rubrics that specifically outline the purpose and requirements would significantly fill the gap of ambiguity. The calendar on the board at the end of the year was also very helpful for me-especially since I have yet to figure out how to access the class calendar online. Overall, the assignments that we were tasked with were very useful in preparation for the AP test-however anxiety induced the peer grading and socratic seminars were. One of the biggest take aways from the class was learning how to write in unconventional ways and stray from typical writing. Being pushed to explore my writing and find my voice has allowed me to develop as a writer, garner confidence, and not be afraid to get weird!
