Assignment 22 - Benjamin Givens

Of all my favorite characters, I would want to be Dalinar Kholin from Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson. He is a character with both idealistic integrity and a rugged, practical nature. He chooses to treat his subordinates, colleagues, and superiors with equal respect; this hurts his ability to exploit his work force, work effective political intrigue, and advance upwards, but he does so because he believes it was is best for the integrity of himself and his country. Despite this integrity, he still is practical in his approach, willing to work with all those around him that mock his commitment to morality rather than himself. He commits himself to what he believes and admirably refuses to follow Machiavellian politics, but he isn't blind to the actions of others and responds accordingly. The core of what he does is act the proper role of his position as a prince, but also use that position to help the state of his nation and the individuals of his nation.
