Assignment 20- Nick Joseph

Of all of my talents, perhaps the most useful is how to dig a hole.  Now, I know exactly what you are thinking.  Digging a hole not only seems very straightforward, it also seems pretty darn useless.  Both of these assumptions are wrong.  To address the latter, holes are very useful.  You can plant trees, set fence posts, and bury things you do not want found.  The possibilities for the uses of holes are endless.  Now, any old person can dig a hole, but few can dig a hole the right way.  To dig a hole you will need four things: a shovel, a good pair of gloves, a chunk of Earth that is willing to cooperate, and a determined mind.  Start off by deciding how large you want your hole to be.  This will vary based on the intended purpose of your hole.  Next, scrape the grass off of the intended hole's area.  This will not only make you feel accomplished, but it will also tell you where you should dig.  Next, get digging.  Dig at a comfortable pace and be sure to stay consistent, especially in the diameter of your hole.  Do not get lazy!  Finally, place whatever you are putting in your hole in the bottom and be sure to fill in the rest of the hole with dirt.
