Assignment 20 - Maddie Klumb

I could try to teach you how to dance or dive, but those would be too complicated and take too long; so, I'll teach you to do cross-stitch instead. First you want to stretch the canvas using a hoop.

Next, you stretch the fabric as you tighten the latch, locking the fabric in place. Once that is done, you will need to strands of your string. Each string will have around eight strands - you will need two. The next step is to thread your needle. Take the two strands you separated and tie them in a knot at one end. Next, carefully thread the two strands on the other end through the eye of the needle. It is your choice if you want to knot the strands on this end as well (I would recommend this if you are new to cross-stitching) or to let the extra string hang. Now, find the center of your pattern and canvas. The first movement of your needle is from under the canvas to the top and back to the bottom. The needle should travel from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. Follow the pattern and line op as many of these stitches as is called for. Next, go back from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. Continue this, changing thread colors when needed, until the pattern is complete.
